Windows 8 Display Resolution
#1
Alright, right now I am running Windows 8 on a Gateway MX7515 laptop, and when I try to change the resolution in Desktop mode, the ComboBox is faded at 1024x768 and won't let me change the resolution at all. <!-- s:!: --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_exclaim.gif" alt=":!:" title="Exclamation" /><!-- s:!: --> I tried installing the VGA drivers from the Gateway site, but they are drivers for Windows XP, which is the OS that was preinstalled on the laptop. When I opened the 'Setup.exe' file, it gave me an error.

I have a ATI Mobility Radeon x600 card, and me, being a neat freak, low resolition annoys the crap out of me, so help would be appreciated. If you need more information, let me know.

Hm, this is interesting. I could see why you are having a problem with this. I think that this guide will help you:
